Aesthetics over food. Yes, you heard it right!
You can have many cuisines, hundreds of varieties, different quantities, and topping options for your pizza. But here’s the truth a lot of cafe/restaurant owners forget:
People don’t step out just to eat. They step out to feel something. To chill. To enjoy. To breathe away from home.
There are fewer people going out to eat than people going out to chill and relax. If your cafe/restaurant is not inviting, is not clean and doesn’t have an aesthetic look - they may not enter, and if they enter, next time may not come at all!

Here are a few ways to make your customer feel a warm hug the moment they walk in:
- Multiple warm lights instead of bright-hospital-like lights: Those bright white lights make people feel like they’re about to get their blood test done.
- AC/Heater as and when required: If it’s hot, run the AC.
- Don’t overdo POP, it is anti-aesthetic! Elaborate POP ceilings with curves, patterns, colored LED strips… feels like stepping into Verma bus 😛. They usually make the space feel noisy and overdone.
- Glass entrance is a must! A clean glass entrance lets people see inside.
- Display your menu outside, it gives aesthetic look. People love to know what they’re getting into before entering.
- A small blackboard
- Or a QR menu standee (clean and modern)
Absolute no. Use warm, soft lighting. Lamps, hanging warm bulbs, indirect lighting. These makes your place look instantly cozy.
If it’s cold, run the heater..
Comfort = longer sitting = more orders = repeat visits.
If it looks inviting, they will walk in.
If they can’t see what’s inside, they will hesitate. Simple psychology.
